The little CPU of the RPi3 doesn't have enough power to steadily decode high res video. Without going deeper into the inner workings, basically if RPi's hardware decoder is not certified, that means Widevine itself will have to decode the video, in turn, that means it will actually have to use the RPi3+'s CPU to decode the video frames. Unfortunately, Netflix uses SW_SECURE_DECODE when the device you are using (RPi3+) doesn't have the required level of hardware support. The decoding via Kodi is done by InputStream, which "chainloads" (for the lack of a better word) WideVine. ![]()
